Gloria is a hippopotamus, who is a megastar  in the Central Park Zoo, all the while being good friends with Alex, Marty, and Melman. She is the tritagonist of the film series and the sole female of the quartet. Her big eyes and large nose are her most striking feature. Oh  I nearly forgot ..
